owenw8232 SCAMMER

Monday 14 April 2018

And my final one for tonight is this one

At first I wasn't sure about this guy and I couldn't decide whether he was a faker or real.  The numbers here are not a real give away but the posts are a bit dubious and made me wonder.  This is his back story:

  • His name is Williams Owen
  • He is 55 years old
  • He is divorced with a son called Bobby
  • He is in the US Army, based in Damascus, Syria
This was all I really got to know about him but he wanted to know all about me and asked all the basic stuff plus all the really personal questions about income, about owning a house, about seeing a picture of his future daughter.  We moved onto hangouts very quickly where his name was Sweet Pen.  He tried voice calling a lot and I always left it to ring.  Our Instagram conversation was deleted by him while we were talking on hangouts.  He also wanted my mobile number but I said no not yet.

As I spoke to him on hangouts I started to have no doubts about him and his reasons for taking to me.  He wasn't a genuine person at all.  He used the usual flattery and fell in love so quickly and said I was his wife, his woman.  Always creeps me out this one.  He then wanted me to start mailing his son Bobby who apparently was so excited and wanted to message his new mum.  Ugh!!! This just is so wrong.  I am sure that there is some deviousness involved but I can never bring myself to do this at all.  This guy continued to say what he is looking for and wondered why I had chosen to be single - they all ask this and this also pisses me off.

We actually spoke to each other for quite some time - days had been expended in this conversation and I was beginning to wonder what the scam was here.  I soon found out.  He wanted me to contact his son about his birthday coming up in a few days time and what he would like for his birthday.  I asked Sweet Pen what he wanted me to do with the information.  I mean his son could email his dad who could then shop online I am sure as he can use Instagram.  Basically the gist of the conversation was that I would buy the gifts for his son.  I think not.  He got called out for the scam artist he is and blocked and reported on all platforms.  These are the pictures he sent me of him and his son.

  1. Found him. Yes. I received a similar story with this photo and I found your story with reversed photo. For me he was very romantic at first and invested some time. I was really trusting this was a real thing but kind of knew it was a scam. We connected through tiktok and I saw his video of a service dog and that is what tricked me most I guess. Because days later in conversation he mentioned to me how his service dog died in Afghanistan. But today the shoe dropped and he told me he had communication problems. OK? He needed my help! (Sure) Could I help him through BITCOIN? LOL. OK. Like a One Star General in the United States Army needs a single mom from Canada to help him out. I am relieved I didn't fall for it. Now my only issue is I did give him my phone number in a moment of stupidity. He is very good when called out to try to make you feel guilty for hurting his feelings and breaking his trust in women again. So, ya. Merry Christmas.
