There is no backstory for this guy. He approached a friend of mine on Instagram. Read the first few screenshots of their conversation. You will see he tries to say that good things will happen should she make a donation to this orphanage. When he says they are in need of food and foams he means that the orphanage are in need of food and mattresses. The orphanage is supposed to be somewhere in Africa but the address to send the money to is a person who is in Sodiq City, Shrewsbury, Pennsylvania. The format given for these details is for the donation to be sent to the person named via Western Union. On looking today on Google maps before writing this post, Shrewsbury is a small town in Pennsylvania not far from the state border with Maryland. However, there is no Sodiq City there and on searching Google maps for Sodiq City alone nothing of any meaning came up. The other thing that makes this whole donation giving sound highly suspicious is that the secretary for the orphanage is not on site and lives in Shrewsbury. That just sounds really wrong. The screenshots continued for several days and he even sent a couple of photos of supposed orphans who live in the orphanage. One of the photos came up on a reverse image search and was actually from another charity - unfortunately I can't find the photo results for this search. My friend did not fall for this scam and did not send a donation.
