Whilst I have just done a couple of posts about financial scams on Instagram I have to add a couple of posts about an American lady called Mavis Wanczyk.
This is a real lady who is much scammed on Instagram and Facebook. The reason being that in 2017 she won the Powerball lottery in the US and won a staggering amount of money. As she went public about her win she is now being used to front many many fake online accounts that are really operated by scammers. They all say that she is giving away amounts of her money. Get wise people. She really isn't given away any of her winnings, well at least using Instagram or Facebook to do so. If you are approached by an account online on Instagram or Facebook or anywhere claiming to be working as Mavis Wanczyk or on her behalf - it is fake. It is an account manned by scammers and will involve you either giving money to receive your winnings (hilarious really) or they will want your personal details which they can use in their scamming crimes.
