Today is the day to tackle the huge elephant in the scamming room on Instagram and all over online platforms: Crown Prince Hamdan from Dubai.   Follow this link here to find out more about the real Crown Prince.

The simplest thing to say here is that if you are contacted on Instagram or elsewhere by anyone claiming to be the Crown Prince shown in the images below, the person is a fake and is out to scam you. None of the accounts on Instagram claiming to be the Crown Prince are ever real they are all always scammers looking to part you with your money and your affection.

Crown Prince Hamdan does have a real and verified Instagram account which he uses much like all other genuine Instagram users, ie to post pictures of hobbies, lifestyle,  work etc.  This is the ONLY Instagram account he uses and he will not be messaging you from it.  Notice the white tick in a blue sunburst shape next to his user name of faz3 - this means he has been verified by Instagram as the genuine person.  Other fakes will try to mimic this check mark or won't include it at all. If it doesn't appear at all or doesn't look like the one here or is an account that is not called @faz3 then you know the account is not genuine and is manned by scammers.

DO NOT BELIEVE ANY OTHER ACCOUNT USING HIS IMAGES WHEN THEY TELL YOU THEY ARE THE REAL CROWN PRINCE.  

They are not.  They are scammers and will be looking to part you from your money.   Please do not let yourself be sweet talked by all these scammers from Nigeria, West Africa and India.  They do not love you, they are not coming for you, you are not going to be a member of the Royal Family in Dubai - it is all a load of rubbish to get your money.  Stay smart and do not believe them.  Report them on Instagram as impersonating a celebrity and include the real Instagram account @faz3 and hopefully Instagram will take down the fake accounts.

The question is here what are the scammers looking for?  They are not usually looking for the normal requests like iTunes cards, Google Play cards or Amazon cards or technology or money to be sent for sick children etc.  The usual scams are not at play here because even they realise that they are stupid requests from who is mean to be a Crown Prince.   They will ask you for:

1.  Money to become a member of the Royal Family in Dubai.  They will send you documents, ID cards, membership cards etc as proof which in reality are all fakes and are not genuine.  No-one pays to join the Royal Family in any country with a monarchy.  The only way you can join the royal family as a full member is to marry into it and this is really not going to happen from a contact on social media is it?

2.  They will ask you to make a donation to a charity that the Crown Prince supports or a charity that he is Patron of.  Again false documents will be sent, links to websites that are fake may well be sent, links to websites of genuine charities may well be sent.  However, the Crown Prince is not contacting women on Instagram or social media in general himself to  send a donation.  I am sure that there are staff for each of the charities he is genuinely involved with who are in charge of fundraising and that the Crown Prince is wheeled out to perform duties at events etc to encourage people to give generously.  I mean ask yourself why would the next in line to throne in Dubai be messaging you to give money??  The answer is he isn't, scammers are.  Give them money and you are donating to the scammers not the charity named.

It is simple really.  Any person who contacts you on Instagram, Facebook, any social media, online dating or gaming platform on the internet and they say they are Crown Prince Hamdan  is lying.  The real Crown Prince is not contacting you scammers are.  If you choose to believe them then that is up to you but they are not genuine.  Believe the fake Hamdans at your own peril.

In my experience on Instagram if a scammer does not use images of someone in the military they will choose to be either an engineer or a contractor.  Both of these are loose and woolly terms that are really rather generic.  I mean an engineer can work in lots of different fields: civil, structural, marine, mechanical, software, computer to name just a few.  Ask a little about what they do and they will often ignore the question or just give you a generic copied and pasted definition from a dictionary about their job.  The same is true of a contractor.  It is a loose term meaning someone who takes on contracts.  They could be in any field.

There are reasons why they choose these types of occupations.

1.  It  gives them the opportunity to be working away from home for a period of time.  This means that they will be away from their children  and family.  They use this to make you feel sorry for them and their children.  I usually say to them that that is their choice - they can always change career and go and work from home. Often they state they are away from home to earn a decent wage as the children have no mother.  Who would leave their children fatherless as well as motherless in reality? One of the things they may well get wrong about their profession is the amount of time they work away for at any one time.  Usually in the oil industry they wouldn't spend much more than a month at a time on a rig.  They would then get a similar amount of time off.  Similarly seafarers on ships work in various patterns but often month on/month off,  2 weeks on/2  weeks off.  Longer trips are done by those going deep sea on container ships, cruise ships etc but then they get longer periods of leave.

2.  Being away at sea or away abroad working constructing stuff means they can make very good excuses as to why they are not able to communicate with you so easily.  They will say they have no internet access or going on to hangouts/WhatsApp/Kik is easier to access  on the ship or rig.  Why would any of those statements be true?  They are using the internet to message you on Instagram and it is working.  All rigs and ships these days have internet access.  It may be a little patchy at times but they have it.  Why would any of the other messaging apps be easier to access on their ship/rig than it is to message you on Instagram?  They may well give this reason about poor Internet as a reason why they can't voice or video call you.  Rubbish - they can they just don't want you to see or hear the real them.

3.  Being away enables them to ask  you to send them stuff.  Here are some of the reasons they would ask you to send them money or cards:

• they can't access their bank account - banking is international and online so they have access
• they are stuck without access to money and need to fly home/visit you - in an emergency they would contact their employers or their country's embassy for help
• they have broken something at work and you need to buy them the part to fix it so they are not in trouble with their bosses - rubbish.  Their company has contingency plans for this happening and they would pay for any broken items not the individual.
• they need to pay to replace a passport so they can get home from work - they can access their bank from where they work or get in touch with their country's embassy for help
• to buy gifts for their children whilst away or send fees to a boarding school/nanny/family for their upkeep - they can access their own bank accounts and sort it for themselves
• they will ask you to purchase iTunes/Google/Amazon cards for them to update apps, buy books, music, films, TV programmes etc - they can do it themselves they have Apple or Google on android accounts with a bank card linked to it for such purchases.  Cards are not necessary.
• they may ask you to send them money to tide them over because there has been a mistake made in their wages.  No never do this.  They should save money for this as a contingency or ask their employers to sort it out.  It is not up to you to send them money.

Basically any reason they want you to send them money or cards or tech is a lie and shows them to be the scammers that they truly are.

4.  I have had "contractors" asking me to cash cheques for them because they can't bank them themselves.  This is rubbish.  They would generally be paid either in cash or directly into their bank accounts.  This is always a lie.

Does a military man need you to pay for his leave?

The short answer to the question about paying for military leave is no, never.  This is a sure fire way of knowing that you are being scammed.  Military personnel never have to pay to get leave.  They accrue leave just like civilians do in their occupations.  This link here takes you to a useful page on leave for those serving in the US Military services.  It will tell you how they accrue leave, when leave can be taken and different types of leave allowed. You will notice that there is no section for payments made for leave because no military person ever has to pay to get leave.  They earn it just like we do in our daily jobs.

What follows is a typical scammers demand for a woman to pay to get him leave from the army. Please note that the email address is not right. What is used is a generic email address that is readily available to anyone.  It is as just like setting up a new gmail or email address with any provider of email facilities.  On searching the United Nations website, there is no way to email them anyway.  You fill out a contact us form.  The United Nations would not be in charge of sorting out the military leave of US military personnel - it would be down to the service itself.

Here are the photographs of the email sent.  Please read and notice just how badly written it is grammatically, poor spelling, poor use of English.  Ask yourself this - would the UN really send out such a poorly spelt email in their name?  The answer is of course not.  Oh and the UN do not have offices in the Yemen either.  The closest it is based is in Nairobi, Kenya.  And the other thing that is totally laughable about this email is that the person masquerading as US army soldier can't spell the rank he is meant to hold.

It goes without saying course that I didn't send this information at all and no payment was sent either. This was the point I unmasked the scammer and got him reported and blocked on Instagram and Hangouts.

Please never send any personal details like those asked for in this email.  You are leaving yourself open for being defrauded, being impersonated in official documents, having fake accounts of yourself made for illegal purposes.  All from a scammer asking you to pay for something that you NEVER need to pay for.

You know that if a man is messaging you on Instagram or on any other social media, gaming or dating platform online and he asks you for money for anything including military leave, you know instantly that it is a scammer.

None of this information is true. Working around the boxes from top left:

1.  Always died tragically to hook you in and make you feel sorry for them.  It is a lie. From what I have been told I would not want to give birth in America, get sick in America or go driving a car in America (especially on my birthday on the way to the mall or home from the mall to get my birthday cake).

2.  If the wife didn't die then they will be divorced or separated usually because of cheating with a friend or neighbour.  Again the lies get bigger and less believable but are designed to make you feel sympathy for the scammer.

3.  None of this information is true.  A soldier whether deployed abroad or at a base in America or somewhere else, is allowed to communicate with loved ones.  They can use any method they like as they pay for the communication.  They are encouraged to take their mobile phones, their laptops so that they can communicate with family and friends.  It boosts a military personnel's morale to be in contact with their loved ones.

They want to move you to an app that is not Instagram for communication because then they have more information about you ie email address and mobile phone number.  Remember that scammers will also sell your information to other scammers to make quick money.

They want to move you to another app because they can keep all their eggs in one basket, ie all their conversations with ladies in one place.  It makes things easier for them to keep track of.

4.  They are not peacekeeping anywhere in the world.  All of these places are war torn countries and your military person is not communicating with you on Instagram from there.  They are not using any  platform online to meet women whilst they are deployed abroad.  Sure fire scammer.

5.  Any military personnel who is deployed away from their base abroad never needs you to send your money for anything or to spend your money buying them anything.  They have access to their bank account whilst away - banking and the ability to access your bank account with online banking and your bank card is universal.  They do not need you to pay for medication or food.  The military are very good at feeding their personnel - an army marches on its stomach - again it is a way of keeping morale high.  They want healthy personnel deployed so they are going to make sure they remain healthy and fit so will have access to the best care and medicines.

If a person uses an Apple device of any kind be it a laptop, a pc, a phone, an iPad or an iPod they have to have an Apple account registered on the device to access the app store.  Even if the apps they are downloading to use are free a credit or debit card has to be registered to the account also.  Therefore they have a means to pay for credit, a means to pay for movies, music, books and TV, a means to update apps or buy new apps.  It is all lies.  They do not need an iTunes card for this as they have a bank card registered to their Apple device and their Apple account already.  The same is true for Google accounts on android phones.  So they do not need any cards for any reason -  they ask for a card they are a scammer.

If they say they need money to help them buy a plane ticket the answer is they don't - they can access their own money whilst away to do this.

If they say they need you to pay for their leave to come to see you know that this is a lie.  No service personnel every pay to leave their service period.  They earn leave and can take it once earned provided they are able to at the commanding officer's say so.  They cannot and do not pay to get leave.

Any other request for money from you is a lie.  They either use their own or they get it provided by their military service or The American Embassy in the country they are in.  They do not need you to send it to them.

They are sending you a parcel full of their belongings, money, jewellery, gold, weapons, items they have found whilst peacekeeping.  NO NO NO.  They would not do this as they are not allowed to keep items they find.  They would not send a whole heap of cash or jewellery to you.  This is a scam to get you to pay customs and import duty.  Please see here  to see an example of this scam.

6.  Their children are in boarding school.  No they are not.  They say this to make you feel sorry for them at being apart from their kids.

They say that their children are being looked after by a relative, a neighbour or  a friend - possible but unlikely.  I mean would you ask anyone to look after your kids for months while you work away from home in the military?

They say a teacher is taking care of the kids.  I once was a teacher and believe me I certainly would never have done this ever at all under any circumstances.

These are such implausible lies.

Although I never got to the point with this scammer where he asked me for something I know that it is a fake account.  Classic stuff here that you will see when you read the screenshots of the conversation we had.  Military guy, wife cheated, has kids.  Boo fucking hoo. Doesn't understand common sayings in English and American English.

Matty B Raps SCAMMED

And this is the face of a child that many of you will recognise I am sure.  He is a young American rapper known as Matty B or MattyBRaps.  He has had his images stolen and used by scammers who pretend that he is their son.  As you can see from the information here on this page, this is clearly not true.

Look at a profile on Instagram of anyone who messages you.  Look at the "children" of said user and if you see Matty B's images being used then you can report and block the account as they are definitely a fake account which is being manned by scammers out to part you with your money.

Remember though that his images have been used for years by scammers and he is unable to stop them from doing this.  YOU ARE THE ONES WHO CAN STOP SCAMMERS IN THEIR TRACKS.

DO NOT SEND MONEY, CARDS OR TECH TO ANYONE ONLINE.

They ask you for these items, they are fake.  They do not love you, they will not come to you, they are using you to fund their lazy scamming lifestyles.  Please do not contact Matty B Raps as he is much more of a victim here than you are.  Respect the fact that he is used in scams hundreds of times everyday.

Fake accounts of scammers using the images of Vin Diesel

Be very aware ladies and gents that there are lots and lots of fake Instagram accounts using the images of the actor Vin Diesel.  They may say they are are the real man, they may claim to be fan accounts.  Be warned - THEY ARE ALL FAKES.  The reason for this is that Vin Diesel has been in Africa or is currently in Africa filming for a new Fast and Furious movie.  I have had many accounts follow me and claim to be the real guy -  he is happily married with kids.  I always wonder what the accounts will ask for but I suspect there is some scam in it where you pay to join a fan club, buy tickets to go and meet the real man, something.  I mean the real Vin Diesel wouldn't need you to send him any money or iTunes cards or any cards or anything wherever in the world he is.  So think logically about it.  Why would the real Vin Diesel be approaching me or you? The answer is that he isn't but scammers are.  Be aware also that Vin Diesel's real name is Mark Sinclair so they sometimes use this to make you think they are genuine - THEY ARE NOT.
